Oil Pastels Portrait

This week we worked on a project where we had to draw a person that we knew and make a portrait of them. I decided to do my little sister, Emily. First we had to make a grid on the picture and paper then start drawing them on the big paper. After we drew them on the big paper we used oil pastels to color them in a crazy way. Above is me coloring my picture.

Here is the finished project of my little sister!!!!

Mud Pantings

This week we did a mud painting, sound like fun huh? We all choose a picture that a famous artist did and had to enlarge it. Our group did a buuny (a.k.a. muddy) After we enlarged it and trace it on to a bigger piece of paper we had to poke hole in it, not fun! Then the next day we had to trace it on to the sidewalk. Above is a picture of us doing just that.

Here is the bunny after we finished tracing it with chalk. Then we had to get the mud and paint the different shades on our bunny with MUD!!!!! Below is the finished project......

Value Scale Drawings

This week we drew another classmate and practice our shading. Above is mine, I wish it looked better. The day before Mr. Sands took our picture in front of a bright light, then printed them. The next day we randomly picked someone from our class and had to draw them. It is a lot harder than it seems. To get the different shapes we used tracing paper and traced the different shapes of light, drak, and in-between. Then we traced it again in our sketckbooks. Finally we shaded and shaded and shaded some more. And we finally got a picture that looked some what of the person we were drawing. (Sorry Catherine T.)

Shadow Art Fun

Today we learned about shadows and how to make art with them. Each table had to decide which type of shadow art they wanted to use. We choose the easiest one. What we did was cut out differnt flower shapes, then we taped them to a blank sheet of paper. Afterwards we put the paper up to the light and it casted a shadow. Above is picture of what it looks like!!! Enjoy!!!!

Cupcake, the turttle, Drawings

At the beginning of school we got to draw our teachers pet turttle, Cupcake. Each picture was a conture line drawing, which means once you start drawing you cannot pick up you pencil until your done. Since the turttle was moving it was very hard to draw him. Hope we don't do that again!!!!!

Fun With Glow Sticks!!!

Today we palyed with glow sticks..... like little kids. Each table worked together and would make a shape or word with their glow stick. As they outlined their thing the camera would count down 10 seconds. Each picture/word was really hard to do. The one above is a heart thing my friend Amber did. Everyone had lots of fun and their pictures looked great.

Cassette Art

This week went went back in time and made art with something people used before CD's.... CASSETTES!!!!!!!!! We each had to look at a picture, then draw it in our skechbooks. Mine is the GA Bulldogs symbol. After drawing it we tranfered it to a board and started going over it with cassette tape. Finally we added a boader and took a picture. It was lots of fun and they all turned out great!!!!!!!

P.S. Go Dawgs!!!!!!!

Animal Hands

Check out my awesome cheetah hand!!! This week we had to draw a contour line drawing of our hand then turn it in to an animal. I turned my hand into a cheetah. Awesome, huh? Sorry about the picture being blurry, my falut.

Then the next day we got to paint our hands like our drawing. What do you think....... awesome or what? Sorry, again for the picture being blurry :(  Keep coming back for more posts!!!!!!!!!!
